Family Pics

The talented and very patient Leah Hendrix took some pictures of us last night.  We've never had family pictures taken.  Tanner has only had pictures done twice, when he was born and when he was 2 1/2.  My friend Rachel surprised me and had the ones of him taken when he was 2 1/2.  Poor little Emory Hart... well she's 7 1/2 months old and has never had pictures taken.  How sad!  Even worse is I have not had any pictures printed since she was born.  I'm definitely the worst mom of the year!  So our friend Leah agreed to take photos of us.  It was yuck and rainy yesterday, but we managed to get a few during the short time that it did stop raining.  Then she took some of our little Emory Hart inside.
Tanner was not very cooperative, and Emory Hart wasn't her happy self.  I took her to the doctor this morning and found out my sweet girl has her 1st illness, an ear infection.  We are hoping she gets better fast for our trip to Memphis this weekend and very grateful that she has managed to stay completely healthy for 7 1/2 months  (thanks to her Honey and Nene).  I am amazed at how talented Leah is and that she was able to even get one good picture of any of us due to our grumpy kiddos.  But she did!  Here are a few of our favorites...

Summertime = Lots of Water

This has been one hot summer.  To stay cool, we've tried to spend as much time as we can in the water with good friends.  Here are some pictures of our summer so far...

Tubing at the Country Club with Hill

 Fishing with Daddy...

...while Mama and Emory Hart watch.

 Dancing with Hill

Singing and dancing with Hill and Harvey

Hart decided to make a homemade slip-n-slide one day.  It was a ton of fun, even for the adults.

Harvey came over to play, too.

Emory Hart even joined in.

She mostly just chewed on anything she could find.

Then she decided to watch from her swing.

We've spent time with these fun Steed girls, too.  They seem to have pools everywhere!

Tanner "Cleaning" with Molly

We took the kids to Destin for a few days in June and stayed with our sweet friends, Matt and Janelle Mims.  They have kids near ours in age, so it worked out great.  It ended up raining nearly the whole time we were there, but we still managed to have a wonderful time.  We shopped, played, did crafts, and ate at some great restaurants.  Janelle cooked for us one night, and it may have been the best meal I've ever eaten.  Her dad is Italian, and she has spent a lot of time in Italy with her family.  Those Italians sure can cook.  She even had homemade pasta in her fridge...I mean, who makes homemade pasta?!  YUM!
We only made it to the beach once, but at least we got to take a picture of Emory Hart so that she will always remember her 1st beach trip.  I'm sure Matt and Janelle were so glad to get their house back in order after we left.  Tanner and Judith sure know how to make a mess!  Janelle and I decided when we arrived to just let our OCD tendencies go away for a few days... and the kids took full advantage. We love the Mims' and can't wait for them to come to Kosy for a visit soon.  Or move here (hint, hint!)

EH at the beach

She and Hank did a lot of this...

And A LOT of this...  They would look at each other and seriously bounce for an hour!

An attempt at a group picture

Tanner and Judith loved playing with Hank and EH

The moms and their little ones.

Did I mention that these two are a little crazy about each other?

An attempt at a few family pics before dinner at the Red Bar

He can make her laugh better than anyone :)

swimming lessons

Tanner took swimming lessons from Chris Potts this summer.  He really enjoyed it and learned a lot.  His biggest accomplishment was that he is no longer terrified of the water.  THANK YOU Mrs. Chris!  By the last day of lessons, he even jumped off the diving board.  So proud of this big boy!

Hart, Tanner, Emory Hart and I headed to Oxford Memorial Day weekend with Honey and Otto to relax and celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary.  We had a great time shopping, eating good food, and relaxing in our favorite place ever.  I think Tanner and EH are going to love Oxford as much as we do.  Can't wait to spend lots of time there this fall!

Emory Hart playing with her new toys.

Tanner and Otto are always up to something.  Here they are riding in the grove cart as Honey pulls them around in the house.
